Insert Witty Title here about globalization of English!

The impact of globalization of English as a language has been only recently picking up as a major topic nowadays. If you really want to get out in the world and become a big hit, if English is not your first language, you need to learn English. Globalization on English as a language has now become such a big thing that a person in today’s world would find it pretty hard to get anyone on a global/national scale if they do not know English already. I myself find the fact that America does not have English as its official language while English is one of the fastest growing languages in the world, thanks to globalization, rather odd yet interesting. If the language continues to grow and evolve one would think that this will have an effect on the nation that uses the language the most. One can say that not knowing at least some bit of English is almost as bad as not being able to read or write.
In the world one can find at least some for of English in every form of mass media entertainment, regardless of what language it was original published in. You can find English phrases in foreign songs, books, movies, and even video games today. The point as even come to pass where foreign directors are now using English as the main language for the movies they film, while they just use subtitles for whatever language is official for them. It boggles the mind but there is just almost no way today can a film or song get a way with not using at least one or two English words.
Globalization has now made the English language the language to know for global/national trade. To make it out there in the business world you only really need to know the basic understand of the English language. You will most likely find that most people in the stock market do know at least some bit of English. There is probably no possible way that children will not be able to learn at least some form of English in their early years due to mass forms of entertainment which is now heavily influenced by the American culture and the English culture.
Thanks to globalization English has evolved to the point where it has become the language of gathering and spreading information via internet. The evolution of the English language has become the number one language for most if not all internet acronyms which as even spread to most if not all forms of massively multiplayer online games, games that are only with hug masses of players from all over the world playing together. A person can probably speak in various English acronyms and even have a small conversation with a person that knows little to no English now and be able to carry on a little conversation.
It is only a matter of time till English will globalize to the point where English will be a language that every educated person would have knowledge of and can use it. They are already teaching the English language as a required subject in most countries. I myself would not be able to honestly say if complete globalization of English will be something good or bad.

My mark, my signature, something that defines me.... I honestly don't know.. (Blog/RJ Week4)

All writers have a style, a catchphrase, or a mark of some kind to differentiate from each other. I have always wondered what kind of signature I would use to define me as a writer. Since I have never written anything seriously for fun I would not know honestly what I would use to set me apart from all the other writers out there. I figure though that if I were to be a writer, editor, or reviewer critic of some kind that my words that I would use as my own signature would be something along the lines that made me look like I was a writer that tries to find the meaning behind my own words from multiple perspective, or in other words a writer with a broad spectrum.
I do believe that it takes time and experience to find something that represents you as an author/writer. The words that define the writer may come to him or her fast or at a steady pace over time. I don’t believe that a writer’s mark/signature comes to him or her right after completing their first work in general. Besides having prior experience I believe to find one’s own definition of self they must first know what they are viewed by other people and how they view themselves. I honestly have yet to figure or decide out who I really am.
I mentioned prior that I would probably use words that probably mention how understanding I was for outside perspective and how I have a broad spectrum/taste. I would probably use a phrase from one of William Shakespeare’s works since almost everyone knows him and at least like one if not more of his past works. There is one phrase from Hamlet that Shakespeare wrote that I fallen completely in love with which is, “There is nothing good either good or bad but thinking makes it so”, since it pretty much describes how neutral and understanding I think I am. I feel that a lot of writers today don’t really like writing to please every one, they either write for themselves or for one type of general audience. I am more of a person who listens to each party’s opinion and then insert my own which would be a compromise for all the parties included.
To emphasize my own phrase borrowed from Shakespeare I would perhaps lead into it by giving a personal opinion of what I am writing about from both positive and negative views. By listing various ideals and topics from multiple view points that appeals to all if not most kinds of audiences then there would be an easy entry way for me to leave my mark on at end. I would want to try to end all my writings in a way that there would be no chance for criticism to be dished out. This goal of appeasing everyone may be hard thing to do but if I take my time I believe I could reach a settlement that is appealing to any sides of an argument.
I am not a writer but I am a thinker and I realize that even in real life there is a style with the way I suggest my thoughts to others. I want to keep working on improving myself as a person, by doing this I think it would help me to become a better writer and find my own words eventually that would allow me to express my true self to my readers. I will be able to show everyone that my opinion is one that would be accept by most if not everyone, even if I can’t get everyone then I would be pleased even with a small number of those who can agree with me on my view points.

Ain't I A Woman? Well....I am not but you are! Blog homework 3 (Note this is prompt essay 1 on page 555)

I, Ryan Finch, have yet to seen any woman of my day stand up to men of such great power in my country, let alone a Negro. If I were a woman I do not think I would have the courage to face and go head to head with these men of power. This lady Sojourner Truth has such charisma it is no surprise that she has got to where she is today. She has such power and influence in her voice which only continued to increase as the speech went on. This woman’s words have the ring of truth to the point where it embarrassed the men she pointed out during the speech. It boggles the mind how one of such poor background is able to rise to point of such high respect amongst her peers of not just a woman but as a speaker and a fighter for freedom and equality.
Lady Sojourner Truth not only supported her own individual sex as a woman but supported her own race with cold reality of how she was treated in public by men. It is simply outstanding that she was able to win over the audience with just cold hard facts on her own experience of not just being a woman but a Negro woman. One must realize that not only has she suffered through being a woman, a sex which is considered weak opposed to us men in our time, but as once a slave, a female slave who has had to go through the pain of watching her family, her children, be sold off one by one to other slave owners.
The audience was simply in pure awe by this woman’s boldness, courage, and risk this woman took to preach her own thoughts and beliefs to those in power. I have never seen so much and so many different expressions on people’s faces while listening to a speech. People were moved and some women were even crying out in the audience. I almost couldn’t hold myself back from yelling out my own praise to this fine spiritual woman.
Lady Sojourner Truth is not just fighting for her own people but for her entire sex as well. One would understand if she only focused on helping her own people, but she does more than just that. Sojourner Truth fights for our country to improve it both mentally and spiritually. I was enlightened, put in awe, and spiritually moved by this woman’s speech. As a man who has seen many speeches this one has got to be one of the finer one’s which was brought up in such a short amount of time. One must hope that this woman continues her on her quest for freedom and equality as a race and gender. I say to you Lady Sojourner Truth that not only are you a woman but a true American in the finest truest definition of the word.

Prompt 1: If you were illiterate.... My life would suck big monkey.

I can honestly say that I can not even begin to fathom the living hell it would be if I was illiterate let alone being an illiterate young parent. I would be extremely embarrassed and probably ashamed of myself if I couldn’t even read a picture book. I couldn’t be able to live with myself knowing that I wouldn’t be able to know what is really going on with the world. With the country’s economy in a depression it is not a time in the world where ignorance is bliss. If you want to survive safely in this country you need to know what is going on, and not being able to know what is going on would only throw your life into chaos. Forget trying to get a decent job with being illiterate. The best I job situation I imagine that I could get, if I am extremely lucky, would be maybe at a fast food restaurant or working landscape. I think even for the most physical of labor you are going to need to have at least some comprehension to do some of the basics.
If I were to be illiterate then I wouldn’t even be able to do half the stuff that I am into. Acting and theater would be totally shot for the simple fact that I wouldn’t be able to read or memorize my script. I wouldn’t be able to read my manga or comics since that is just reading with very illustrated pictures. Traveling would be terrible since I wouldn’t be able to read the signs for directions. My whole life just would be shot to hell and back with me not being able to read or write.
I don’t know how I would be able to keep being illiterate a secret as a parent, even if for a long length of time. I would imagine at this point in time in the world, with technology the way it is, that it would be extremely hard to not being revealed as illiterate. How would I be able to explain myself to my kid? The only possible way I can imagine keeping the fact of being illiterate a secret is if I had a very close friend who knew about it and just kept me informed about everything going on, either that or watching the news every other day. My family would probably know full well if I could read or write since of their background of all being successful in school and life, mother as a P.H.D. and my father is well place social worker boss who sometimes works for the government. My life would just be a living hell.

Something to say about next week.

While I am making/preparing my assigned post for my internet class this week I just wanted to mention that I will also starting next week post about various shows, books, movies, and whatever I am currently into at the moment. Who knows I may be a useful pool of information to get you into something cool that you might like.
